Rent a Rack
Motherkin is a second hand children’s clothing business who also provides an easy way for you to recycle your good quality garments, earn money, and help the world become more sustainable.
A 10% commission will be deducted from your total sales & kept by Motherkin. Rack rental fee must be paid at the time of booking. We accept cash, eftpos or bank transfers. Transfer details can be found in the T&C’s sent upon booking.
Drop off & set up service
To be paid when items are dropped off on hire start date. Completion of inventory list, ironing & future restocking is the responsibility of the customer.
$45 for standard rack
$55 for large rack
Here’s a quick rundown on how it works:
- Motherkin uses Zellr to track and manage all rent a rack bookings. Customers who rent a rack must use this software
- Once we confirm a start date & receive payment for your rental fee, you will receive a confirmation email from Motherkin and an email from Zellr with your log in details.

You are most welcome to print your product sheets at home and price all of your items. If you wish to print/price your items at home prior to coming in to set up, safety pins/price tags will be the hirers responsibility. If you wish to tag your items in store on your start date whilst you are setting up, we can prepare the completed price tags for you. Coat Hangers will always be provided by Motherkin 🙃

On the last day of your booking Motherkin will pack up your rack for you around 3pm and your remaining items need to be collected before 4pm on the last day of your booking.
- It is the customers responsibility to set up the rack (Unless you would like to book our setup service)
- Our opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 9-4pm
Re-stocking
Our rack hire includes 1 complimentary restock of 10 items. These 10 items must be included on your initial setup list created in Zellr. Once you sell your first 10 items Motherkin will restock your rack with the 10 additional items you leave with us. Motherkin are not responsible for ironing/steaming these items.
Additional restocks are welcomed and recommended. You can track your sales online anytime through the Zellr app & it is the customers responsibility to hang/price these items. (More info on this in the Zellr guide)

Here’s what we do to help:
- We will keep your space clean & tidy throughout your whole hire period
- You are guaranteed one social media story & one video on setting up. We may do additional posts however this is not a guarantee.
- We respond to all customers via social media to assist in online sales associated with your rack.
Items you can sell on your rack
- Clothing, shoes, headbands, hats, beanies, bathers, baby carriers, muslin/jersey wraps, nappy bags. Please note larger items like carriers and nappy bags MUST fit within your hire space and be kept off the ground.
- Sleeping aids, toys, breast pumps, bottles, battery operated appliances are not allowed to be resold on your rack. If you are unsure of something please feel free to ask us.
Presentation & Quality
Clothing must present clean with :-
- No holes, stains, excessive stretching, noticeable thinning or excessive pilling
- No animal hair or strong perfumes
- Clothing must be preloved. Items that are new with tags are welcomed however they must still be second hand e.g purchased and never worn. We do not allow businesses to hire racks to sell their own goods.
- The garment tag/s must have the following attached Brand name / Sizing / Care labeling
- We recommend ironing/steaming your clothing as they will have a better chance of selling.

Can you include non-branded items?
Yes, non-branded items do sell well when priced appropriately. If they are brand new with tags, definitely include them in your rack.
